Yep MM I have down the global thing a couple of times only to have to wait until we get our version out here and we alway seem to lag behind. I was just surmising that say virus X is on the KISS database then in my tiny mind it should show up as virus X in whatever part of the world it did.

But I take your point distribution must be a nightmare.

Now I don't know about how you find it but I have the impression apart from the 2014 the GUI has been getting more simple to use and I am interested in seeing what 16 comes up with.

My only beef with the suite is the safe money feature which I used to use a lot but it has become quite annoying if one tries buying stuff say from EBay that even though I don't list that site or sites I use for payment Kaspersky automatically locks onto it and stops the transaction in it's tracks ,and makes one use the current page to transact which seems weird to me because like I said I haven't set anything in safe money for some time now..

Otherwise I going to keep on using it not only because of the ratings bit because it it very reasonably priced

2015 still gets database updates and is quite stable.
They are beta testing patch D for it now, so it is still fully supported.
You're not significantly less protected with 2015 than with 2016 for now.

Unless you have Win10, it's not immediately critical to update to 2016 (the "protection" changes under the hood aren't all that dramatic).

TBH I typically wait until at least patch (b) or MR1 for stability (sometimes even a bit later).
KIS/KAV/KTS are pretty powerful and I have found over the years that it does take a month or two in the wild for the lab to work out the bugs.
(A few years back -- perhaps version 2014 -- it was a hot mess for several months...)

Overall, I'm not an "early adopter", as I prefer stability for software/hardware.
    JMHO.

Yes well I am like you I wait for bugs to be cleared by leaving it to at least (b) as you do but I have at least three machines I can try the new version out on one before I go putting it on them all.

Yes I do remember the 14 being a bit shambolic and even 15 back just after Christmas out here was problematical - having said that though they did fix it within a week.

2015: the Thunderbird compatibility issue was a non-starter for me. That took them a while to iron out. I had to wait for that to be sorted.

Although I miss that darn desktop gadget from previous versions, the 2015 UI/UX is actually quite good and does fix some of the stuff they took out from 2014.

    >>Coming -- with 2016 -- will be an internal VERSION auto-updater (not just a patch updater). It's being beta-tested now and is not yet operational. When they do implement it, if I understand it correctly, it will no longer be necessary to cleanly upgrade between major versions (e.g. 2016 to 2017). Being a creature of habit, I will probably still follow that "best practices" approach. But users who want things to proceed automatically will be able to do so. Being an old fuddy-duddy/geezer/semi-Luddite, I just can't get used to "on-top" updates of major versions of anything....

    Nighty night,

Yes mate I am bit like you I do like a complete and I mean a complete uninstall between versions I even delete reg entries but that is just me being pedantic.

Not sure about the auto updates although it would ave a lot of fiddling around. Mind you what they have done with Windows updates in 10 is some scary stuff as I do like the choice of downloading what I want but thats another story eh.

    Have a good sleep mate.
