    What antivirus to use?

    Hello

I been Linux user for like 3 years and never had to use any antivirus software, but now that I'm using Windows I need to download some software which would protect me. Because there are 100 mores chance of getting virus in Windows than in Linux, right now I'm using Microsoft Security Essentials and MalwareBytes

Maybe you can tell me your antivirus software which you are using compared to MSE and MalwareBytes

First thing to take into account is to consider your usage habits. The "100 more chances" to get infected, while having some of truth it's also somewhat exagerated. Both Linux and Windows have become very good in terms of security, but in Windows the default configuration is a disaster, plus many users don't caring at all at what they run in the computer. Common sense is THE first protection you want, really.

That said, I really cannot recomend anything in particular, since I'm not using anyone myself. ClamWin is a nice alternative, but has no real-time "protection". A long thread of the topic, including the habitual religious wars about antiviruses it here:

    Hi and welcome to SevenForums,
As long as you use Malwarebytes Premium = not free
MSE will be fine I've used this combo for years without issue

If budget does not allow premium as an option than go for Panda free and use mbam as a free scanner.

MSE is a good, free anti-virus, and will do the job. For more protection, from other types of viruses you should get MBAM (premium would be much better) and Super antispyware (for sypware).
