    Microsoft Security Essentials detected it right when I clicked Save.

    Any anti-virus that can't even detect this doesn't deserve it's title. :)

    KIS2010 blocked it all the second I click the download link.

    hi kosmo, when i tried to download the test file, my avast IS 5.0 detected the threat and aborted the connection immediately. this means my AV is working fine. its a relieve though......

Please, I have been using MSE for the past year or so but I'm starting to question it's reliability. My question is, compared to other free AV's how does MSE rate. Let me say that many free AV's come with bundled software that I don't care for. Does anyone have an opinion.
I did a bonehead move of installing PC tools anti-virus before uninstalling vipre on my wife who's out of town. The kids infected it playing flash games. long story short, Her Gateway (win7 home premium) is on a a start-up loop. All I can get to work with a recovery disk is get into the DOS prompt...
