Hello All,
I recently clean installed Windows 7 Pro 64bit on my home computer. I receive SEP 11 from work and after installing I noticed the NTP is not showing up in the status page. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling as a custom install, as well as according to previous advice in this forum for the beta versions, but NTP still does not show up. According to the client management system log, NTP is activating.
I went to the Symantec support website for advice and there was a recommendation to do change/ modify install. I opened the control panel, right clicked and selected the change then modify option. There is no red X next to the NTP so it appears to be installed. I followed the instructions anyway, but it didn't work. The fix is posted at
Network Threat Protection does not appear in the user interface after installing Symantec Endpoint Protection
This same problem was reported by others using windows prior to 7 as there is a fix listed for Vista and prior. The fix is as follows- Check the registry key "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\DevicePath" the value should include %systemroot%\inf, if the entry is missing or blank, the data value needs to be added. I figured I would give it a shot but I was unable to locate this key. The fix is posted at
Network Threat Protection fails to load after install
Does anyone have any solutions? Any advice is appreciated, thank you.
