    I've never used AOL. Suggest logging into gmail via this link your browser:

    http://mail.google.com/

    then once logged in follow instructions in this post:

    Email link security.

    Ignore the software mentioned.

    I think the two points I highlighted above would be useful.

    Seems to me it's a safe bet it's bogus if you never gave them your AOL email.

    Does moving it out of the spam folder let you see the link by hovering?

    If not, it sounds like this setting is enabled,
