Anyone know of this virus?

I'm hoping someone will be able to point me to the proper removal instructions/app for this one. It's a nightmare. First happened when i used a app caller "SUPER " video converter. I've used it for years but not recently so i dunno how it happened but it appeared to update when i opened it like it usually does when not used for a time. Anyways, i dragged a video into it and i watched as all the videos in that folder changed to some random characters for the name AND extension. So as an example "video.avi" might change to "ah56df.d7y" or some such random name. I tried renaming one to vid.avi but they're no longer working. I ended up deleting them all, and they were conversions from home videos made many years ago and now they are gone ! And i tossed the original tapes. Nice eh? Thanks scumbags ! I think it's one of those things where they ruin your files than ask for $ to get them back but the instructions was in french or something so i could sorta make out that thats what they were asking. I'd die before i'd pay that scum a cent no matter how important those files were to me.

Then i noticed a ton of additions to the startup list which i quickly removed. But that didn't fix all the other issues that started, and the crap in task manager still show up after restart, tho they usually take a few minutes to load up after restart. Sys restore's restore points (there were 3 in there just recently) were gone and sys restore turned off. There were multiple instances of "conhost.exe" in task manager with a bunch of others that are new. I investigated those with google but nothing solid to go on. Found a lot of files that were just created in the sys 32 folder and deleted some but some wouldn't allow deletion even when i ended as many of the new processes as i could. (some just pop back in when ended) Then the final misery is that when i shut the pc down about 4 or 5 browser window with ads pop up one after the other and finally after 30 seconds windows forces them and whatever virus app runs to shut down and restarts. Any ideas how i can remove this crap or what apps are the best to run? I tried norton's stand alone virus remover but no luck. Found a lot of things i removed but that didn't do it.

Suggest Malwarebytes for computer scan, there is a free version that works very well. For the videos have no idea except for trying a recovery tool called Recuva which also does a good job in finding and restoring deleted files. Wishing you good luck on this.
