Invalid username in logon ( no capslock or numlock on )

Today i opened my laptop and could not get through the log on of windows even though no caps or numlk was on and my password was a simple 4 letters only and no matter how many times i tried to input it.

* after 6-7th try it looked like it worked, the circle was spinning but then i was retrieved back to invalid username window on the log on screen.

Pressed restart button and received a warning that info might be lost for other people connected to my pc.

After restart same password i tried before, the one i`m using since i bought the laptop worked like a charm.

Any ideas ?

reprogram "CapsLock" to "Shift-CapsLock"?
Is there a program or a keyboard that will allow this? Also, relative to the state of the "NumLock" key, I would like to reprogram both states of the "7" and "Home" as well as all they other keys on the numeric keypad. Is there any hope for me?
