Does any anti virus program fits this description???

hi, i just installed CLEAN install of Windows 7 Upgrade (OEM) and it takes 45 seconds to boot up YAY
but ever since i installed norto n360...LOL 2 minutes? wtf? i hate resource hogging programs.

I am looking for an anti virus that is super great that barely affects your pc boot up (or no effects at all to make pc boot faster) and well...not a resource hog that makes ur comptuer crash.

so any suggestions for what antivirus programs (i need people who actually tried the product and has experienced it, not just suggestions without knowing) fits what i am looking for? i am currently using norton 360 3.0 its good but slows my laptop >_>

I use Avast Home Edition. I know a lot of others use AVG. Links to both (and probably some others) here. FREE Great Programs for Windows 7. Nice thing is they're free. I turn off email scanning when I install. It's not needed. If you open something with a virus the real time scanner should catch it.

Lol I know exactly where you are coming from and support what Garysgold said about Avast i have been useing it for a long time now. I do a custom install with just Standard,Network & Web shields

Have found it lightwieght updates fast and delivers the goods when it comes to protection

Download FREE antivirus software - avast! Home Edition I also have used Avast home for years. You can do as stated above and do a custom install or once installed you can right clcik on the globe icon and disable whatever protections you don't feel you need or want. Once installed you'll see 2 globe icons I usualy merge the 2 into 1. Fabe

well im never gonna use norton 360 hahaha
so far avast...it eats 30 seconds of bootup so 70-75 seconds total
    without one 40-45
but i guess there isnt any av that doesnt affect boot up.
ima try avg and see how that works out

You may have uninstalled it using Programs and features, but it's not gone from your computer. There will still be files left behind.

A Google search can verify this:
