Ok guys, my apologies. I couldn't understand why he wanted me to "fix" Windows Update. I didn't know anything was wrong with it. But I went ahead and followed his instructions on that page and now I see a whole bunch (238) of updates ready to download.

I was confoozed. When did the Windows Update get broken?

That last update he had (KB3125574) says its AMD64, but I have an Intel machine. Wasn't sure what to do with that one.

Yes, to put it in layman's terms Windows 7 Update Service has some problems. Luckily you have these guys to fix it for you.

As long as it was one he said to install do it, the AMD64 one, I think it just means 64bit. I tried to look at it for you but M.S. don't like my Linux machine.

Only weird thing is now (it shows I have 193 updates) the progress bar just keeps spinning and it shows 0 downloads/0 complete. It's been that way for about 20 minutes. Wonder what's up with that?

Windows Update searches for updates, but it doesn't show any progress in the actual screen. When it finally does have updates that are ready to install I have to open Windows Update to find them, then I can install them. Weird.
