Regsvr32 error after Anti-Malware scan... Please help!

Hi all,

After having Malware/virus on my laptop I had to use Malwarebytes Anti-Malware and a few other anti-malware software.

Restarting my computer after all the scans etc. , I've come upon the following error message:

"The module 'C:/Users/../AppData/Local/Uhhmedia/wvwdukbc.dll' failed to load. Make sure the binary is stored at the specific path or debug it to check for problems with the binary or dependent .DLL files. The specified module could not be found."

Upon further investigation, I have found out that this file is being quarantined by Malwarebytes Anti-Malware for a Trojan.

Also after searching on MSconfig's startup tab, I've been able to find out that 'wvwdukbc.dll' works as a Microsoft Operating system command.

So I'm not sure what to do here.

PLEASE HELP!!!

Hello and welcome:

>>Malware -- and the removal thereof -- can sometimes damage important OS files.

It's possible that the file in question may have been patched by malware.
So, it would not be safe to restore it from quarantine or perform a system restore just yet, without more information.

For starters, I suggest that you please ATTACH the MBAM SCAN log (as a *.txt file, not an *.xml file) to your next reply here, so that we can see what MBAM found/removed.
Instructions for locating, exporting and saving logs HERE.

We'll go from there.

Thanks,
MM

Hi:

Those do not appear to be false-positive detections.
Most are PUPs, but there was also some bonafide malware in the log that has been quarantined.

Are you still getting the error message you reported?

Often, full malware removal & repair requires the use of multiple, specialized & powerful scans, as well as customized scripts written by a trained expert.

I suggest either waiting for one of the more qualified members here to assist you, or heading over to one of the busy, reputable malware removal fora for a bit of guided help.
The Malwarebytes malware removal forum might be a good option -- that way, if the detections do turn out to be F/Ps (which is unlikely), the helpers there will have direct access to the QA team that manages the databases.

Thanks,
MM

Test your anti-malware/anti-virus protection with EICAR
As many of you know(quite a few don't) what EICAR is, this is a open poll to see what programs pick it up and what programs fail the basic tests. I am conducting this poll because A-Squared failed to see this on a scan, but MSE picked it up before it could be downloaded. So after you take...
