what do you do?

what would you reconmend paid anti virus like my computer guy says or go for the free software like MSE, Avast , AVG ect.

i choose the free way but what do you do?

payed anti virus of freeware versions?

Hello still free films,
There is no such thing as a free lunch.
Paid Anti Virus would be my recommendation.

Suggest you should have included asking people why they chose free or paid as part of your questioning.

get the best of BOTH worlds

join MS Technet (especially at a discount - look for coupons on the web)

Then you can get a shed load of MS PAID stuff for FREE including Windows, Servers, MS Office -- and the corporate edition of MS security - Frontside Client security far better than 90% of the rubbishy bloatware that tries to pose as "AV security" and uses algorithms based on last centuries attacks -- "Dinosaur Technology".
