    Virus Scanning

Hi all. I have a problem with scanning for viruses. i previously had problems on windows xp, now i have windows 7. and still having the same problem. When i start my virus scanner, eset nod 32, it just stops and the computer freezes. as i mentioned before, i had the same problem with windows xp, thats why i upgraded to windows 7. previous antiviruses had done that too, malware bytes and microsoft security essentials. any reason why it does that? i have windows 7 ultimate, intel core 2 duo clocked at 1.8ghz, 1gb of ram and intel X3100 gpu.

Download Secunia Personal Inspector Download - Personal (PSI) - Vulnerability Scanning - Secunia.com

Run a scan and see if you have any programs that are outdated and vulernerable to attack.

Also, have you tried running your antivirus while disconnected from the Internet and in safe mode?

The only copies of NOD32 which I've seen exhibit that behaviour were hooky ones with patches and keygens propping them up...
