    Does Virus Affect Other Partition?

This may be a silly question, but does virus affect other partition? Just wondering....

I don't want my Mac OS X (Snow Leopard 10.6.6) partition (HFS+) on my 2006 Discrete Macbook Pro to be affected by a virus. (Bootcamped with Win 7 Pro x86)

I have googled looking for a solution, but I haven't found one yet...

    Any answers is appreciated.

    Regards...

    Dean

Yep! As Stalker said. The most common ones out there are the recycler virus which creates autorun.inf files on each partition which point to malicious file(s). As soon as you open that partition it gets activated.

AFAIK, the windows system cant read or write to the Mac partition. Even if you copy a malware .exe to the mac partition, it cant do any damage because the format wouldnt be recognized. But if you install a program like Macdrive, then you can probably eliminate some of those barriers. To be safe, use a decent AV and firewall on the windows partition. Also, I think Macdrive has a read-only mode that will limit any malware to the windows partition.
