But the fact that your favourites didn't made it, dosen't give enough argument for test being unfair.
The reason he's saying this test is unfair isn't because NOD is his favorite. It's because they tested
version 2, which is years old, and even ESET says is less effective than the current v4.
Honestly, v2 is
years old. They should be testing the most current version.

Exactly Chris. I m not advocating favoritism but they should have used the latest version of NOD32. Otherwise, ESET has been doing well in the tests. Look at the latest November test results: http://www.av-comparatives.org/image...c_report24.pdf

I do agree with both of you that it wasn't unfair that they have tested old version of NOD32
But as you look again to the post I replied:
I dont agree with this test. Avast at 16th and ESET NOD32 V2 at 30th. Not a fair competition.
He didn't mention anything about versions. And we don't know about Avast tested version.
So from that post I could only understand that the test was unfair because avast was at 16th and NOD32 at 30th. As you can see it was not valid argument.

This is a NON issue - since if you are basing stuff on Novembers article it will mean the data was probably collected in October --nearly 12 weeks ago -- an almost "Geological Era" as far as AV / malware is concerned.
Just look at the number of times MS has updated its Forefront Client Security (and also the MSE) database since October.
These "Tests" are about as useful as a pair of last week's torn knickers. They are only valid on the actual DATE the test is conducted.
24 Hours later a WHOLE DIFFERENT BALLGAME might apply.
In fact if I were one of these Scumbag malware / virus creators I'd USE these lists because I'd know unsuspecting people would treat these as Gospel and install what the list purports to be the most effective piece of software.
Actually the REAL answer to the post (although obviously not a practical solution) is actually the OFF switch.
