I dont agree with this test. Avast at 16th and ESET NOD32 V2 at 30th. Not a fair competition.
    Dinesh, I respect you.
But the fact that your favourites didn't made it, dosen't give enough argument for test being unfair.
And test results were provided by www.virustotal.com , And I hope we all agree on it's effectiveness and regular updates.

Malwarebytes Antimalware isn't on www.virustotal.com database so it's not big wonder that it is not in test.

I wonder why they didn't add a-squared as It is in the database.
But as far as I know a-squared uses Ikarus AV platform so, they actually tested it and it is on top.

The reason he's saying this test is unfair isn't because NOD is his favorite. It's because they tested version 2, which is years old, and even ESET says is less effective than the current v4.

Honestly, v2 is years old. They should be testing the most current version.

    Exactly...it isn't favortism...it is just a fact...

The test was unfairly biased...don't take the results as fact at all

I do agree with both of you that it wasn't unfair that they have tested old version of NOD32

But as you look again to the post I replied:

He didn't mention anything about versions. And we don't know about Avast tested version.
So from that post I could only understand that the test was unfair because avast was at 16th and NOD32 at 30th. As you can see it was not valid argument.

Sorry If I showed any disrespect towards any member (especially Dinesh, and I hope (even believe) that you didn't mean to show any favouritism)
    If I hurt somebody, sorry.

The user gets viruses - and the best protection won't help with a wrong mouse click.

the problem is indeed the user. oddly enough it seems it is easier for a noob to tear down a MS os than someone experienced
