    Warning about IEPro 2.4.7 !

    hi !

IEPro is a nice program that adds some improvements to Internet Explorer, like fx. DNS-prefetch.

but a warning about IEPro 2.4.7: it comes with "ASK-Toolbar" !!!

for those who doesn´t know: ASK-toolbar is considered a security risk by experts !

after installing IEPro as admin, i switched to my user-account and started IE8, and then found another "suggestion" to install !?
however i got so upset, that i didn´t take a note of exactly what is was, i just uninstalled it.
but i think it was some extra "menu"...

Last time I checked, IEPro wasn't fully working with IE8. Has this changed?

You can always decline to accept the offer of installing Ask Tool bar by unticking the option when you install IE7Pro. Other programs such as CCleaner offer Tool bars as well.
Yes, IE7Pro works well with IE8.

Some programs will download the toolbar anyway ... just uninstall it in Programs and Features, then delete it in the program folder.

I just checked their forum and it seems that it's still buggy. I may take a snapshot and give it try anyway

i use ie7pro in ie8 on vista for nearly one year now, and i can tell you that there are only two issues i found, first is that the crash recovery page does not work propperly because of an error in layout. the other one was a little tricky, i experienced occassional browser crashes without any visible reason while loading pages. however after a while of trial and error i figgured out that this was caused by "faster ie" and as soon as this is disabled i have no crashes anymore. so except crash recovery there is effectively no problem with ie7pro and ie8.
