    Any Good Browser Security Software?

Recently I randomly will get re-directed in Firefox to bs sites. For example, I just put in quicktime. com and I get redirected to r.bargaincast. net It is completely random, doesnt do it all the time. Ive used several spyware/adware programs to search for what is causing this, and nothing is found. Malwarebytes, Spybot Search/Destroy, MS Security Essentials, and even Ad-Adware. Ive uninstalled Firefox, reinstalled. Still happens.

So far, I dont see this when using Opera or IE. Anyone have any ideas or know of a good browser security software if it even exists? This is annoying the heck out of me.

I do not have an answer to your question. Although you said that you tested, it really seems to me that some nasty ocassionally takes control of your browser. In any event, I have found this article concerning browser security. If you did not read it before, I think that it will be of interst to you. Sorry that you are having problems

Have you tried the NoScript add-on in Firefox?

Ill give it a try. I kind of think I have something (spyware or something) because ive never had this happen before. It just started recently and I havent installed anything or done anything different. Ill check that out though.

I have installed the No Script add on, but find it a bit annoying at times having to right click and allow stuff all the time. I now have SpywareBlaster installed as well. Problem seems to cease when I use No Script but once I disable it, the problem occurs.

Again, it seems random. If I do a search on Yahoo, Google for example, every once in a while I get redirected to some complete garbage site. Or if I enter in a legit website in the address bar, ill get redirected everyone in a while. Besides the annoyance, what really bothers me is what exactly is causing this when I havent had this problem before (with the exception of several years ago when I was new to the internet and was careless).

Besides using No Script, Im not sure what to do. I may resort to a complete Windows 7 clean install though im convinced its something with Firefox since I dont have problems with my other browsers

Just thought id update. I believe I found the culprit(s) to my woes. I noticed an extension with no name, installed. The name was just Extension and Ver 1.29. After some searching, it seems that has something to do with Linksadoor, which has some part in streaming. I know in the past couple months, ive been watching streaming NFL games and such. I dont remember using a Linksadoor link but I must have. That extension opened me up to the redirecting to ad sites.

I also noticed another extension that I know for a fact I never installed. UltraSurf Firefox Tool. I guess its geared toward people in countries with strict censorship or something. I think its spyware/adware personally though of course, it was never detected by the numerous scans ive run recently. Neither was the Extension 1.29 for Linksadoor.

I shouldve been more careful in my search for streaming sports games. I thought I was at the time, but apparently not enough. Luckily it was just redirecting and not a major trojan. I guess you really can NEVER be too careful when on the net.

Thanks to all that responded with advice, any help or ideas is always appreciated.
