Windows 7 - Program shortcut requires UAC permission?

| | Program shortcut requires UAC permission? I have a desktop icon for opening CorelPaint Shop Pro Photo XI that has a yellow security sheild on it (not the case for 10 other program shortcuts). Executing the shortcut brings up an "Unknown Publisher" UAC warning. Not a show stopper but annoying as all get out. I have been playing with the Security properties for the shortcut and the exe file to get this to go away but no joy. Does anyone have a step by step to stop this behavior? |

| | Hello TVebeln, and welcome to Seven Forums. If the program doesn't have a update, then you might see if creating a elevated program shortcut for it may allow it to run without the UAC prompt. It works to stop the UAC prompt, but I'm not sure if it will work with the "Unknown Publisher" part of the UAC prompt or not. It would be worth a try to see though.
