Give a try to Windows Advanced Firewall (Run->wf.msc). After dozens of buggy firewalls I decided to stick with the default one. At least it works as it should on multiple NICs, including wifi, and doesn't shut up all your connections after long-stand P2P sessions, hibernations and user switching, like Outpost Firewall, for instance

Thank you Darkassain. I'm sure that Comodo will get it worked out as Windows 7 is closer to being released though.

You might take caution with Comodo Internet Security (Firewall). Take a look at the post below. It appears to run just fine, but uninstalling may be another story.
That's not very good, I doubt I'll uninstall though, I've been with Comodo for just about 2 years, good to know though thanks

Well, I have tried all of the things listed and I can get it installed, but it will not work. I keep getting an error that something is not working and to run the diagnosis thing and I do that and then it says it cannot fix it. I installed it using the Vista compatibility and as administrator.

It shows on the bottom of the Comodo Firewall popup "The network firewall is not functioning properly" also.

I am using version 3.8.6463.468 of CIS.

Hi darkcyber and welcome to the forum!

Please read the article that Prtik posted.

I've been using CIS v3.5.57173.439 for several weeks now, though I must say, I didn't give the native Windows 7 firewall a test drive but will most likely remove CIS from my system this weekend

If you really want to use CIS, please understand the risks and follow the instructions properly.

    Cheers

    NosferatuX,

Thanks! I read his article a few days ago. I really like Comodo Firewall on all of my other pc's, XP & Vista and was just trying it out to see if I could get it to work. I have been using the Windows default firewall and will probably continue doing so for the short term, until something else emerges for 7.

    Thanks for the welcome!

    How to make it works!!

hello, i was looking for a solution (replace the windows Firewall) and i found comodo firewall pro but when i install the first time i had a Firewall Error..
how can u make Comodo Firewall Pro to work exellent in W7?
Easy, Download the latest installer, Right Click on the Setup exe file and Check "Run This Program in Compatibility Mode For:
Windows Vista, then check the box on Privilege Level:
Run this program as an Administrator.
The next step BEFORE install the CFP is to Disable "User Account Control" Change to "Never Notify" then Install the program and that's all.

Just started messing with 7 Bld 7057 and THIS is the single most useful post I've seen yet. Sooo useful with those ancient Vista programs, eh!

    Thanks!
