I gather it is similar to Rkill and directed at rootkits?
Just for laughs, I ran both Hitman and Rkill in the last day or two. They both complete very quickly--maybe 20 seconds. Neither found anything, but I didn't think I had issues. I think Rkill finds rootkits, but you have to use something like Malwarebytes to remove them. Not sure about Hitman.
Another one I am hearing about is Combofix or something like that?

I had an issue on a friends computer that had Rootkit maleware/virus and this was the only thingthat was able to remove it without reformatting.

Hitman Pro isn't AV alternative but just On-demand scanner.
So you can keep it like MBAM with your AV.
Purpose
Hitman Pro 3
does not leave a program running in the background that continuously checks incoming e-mail and downloaded files for malware. Therefore you need to scan your PC regularly to ensure your PC is not infected.
Hitman Pro 3 can be used in combination with any other security suite. Scanning your PC for malware with Hitman Pro 3 will always be
free so if you already have a security suite on your PC, it is an ideal program
to make sure your security suite has not missed anything.
I gather it is similar to Rkill and directed at rootkits?

It's not like Rkill.
Rkill's purpose is to find and shut down rootkits.
But Hitman Pro works more like Malwarebytes Anti Malware, but with cloud scanning.
Hitman Pro uses multi-Vendor cloud scanning, If it finds suspicious file, it will compress it and send to the cloud, where it will be scabbed with:
GData
A-Squared
AntiVir
PrevX
NOD 32
Also it has Early warning scan, which will warn you about suspicious files even though cloud scan haven't detected it as malaware.

but why would you buy other stuff if you have you AV? does that mean you don't trust your av that much? you don't feel safe?
ESET+Firewall+UAC+Router = non bloated atleast almost perfect protection :O
"im not talking to anyone" just asking question to all.
but I guess it will be usefull to a already infected pcs. if its really effective that is?. but then again. why not just install an AV to an already infected pc? XD I just dont get these kind of softwares.
correct me if I'm wrong but these mbam, hitmanpro and ect doesnt repair the infected files right? they just detect and remove it? which doesnt make any difference from scanning with you're AV. but if they do. they might be usefull then :P
