Mercurial, Actually you don't need to buy it.
As it is free to scan and detect.
You have to use paid version only to remove infection.
But first time it detects something you are given chance to activate trial version and remove infection (not sure how long it is, As I only activated it once while cleaning friend's PC, on me it didn't detected anything, so I am still on free version)
It's just for backup, on-demand scanner.

What I like about Hitman Pro is that its fastest cloud scanning technology.
It consists virus definitions of 5 major antivirus (in the cloud) which never lets it fail to remove malwares.

but I guess it will be usefull to a already infected pcs. if its really effective that is?. but then again. why not just install an AV to an already infected pc? XD I just dont get these kind of softwares.
Because single AV's miss things. Not every AV can get every piece of malware, 100% of the time. Doesn't matter what program it is. A layered approach is the best approach IMO. Running something like Hitman Pro on demand, as it is meant to be used, it is not realtime protection, allows you to scan your system and see if something got by your AV, you can then use something else to remove it or pay for Hitman Pro to remove it.
I have also used Hitman Pro on heavily infected systems to actually resurrect them without having to reinstall the OS. It's a great product.

ESET+Firewall+UAC+Router = non bloated atleast almost perfect protection :O
I use everything that you just mentioned. I love ESET. But, NO. That is not almost perfect protection.
Go browse Wilder's security forums sometime. You'll see plenty of people who got infected while using up-to-date ESET antivirus. NOD is great, but like most modern AV, it does a poor job of fighting off day0 rogues.
Add LUA and SRP to your mix above and you're a little closer to perfect, but not quite.

is hitman pro like combofix? or is it similiar to malware bytes?

i got hit with some malware i couldn't find or get rid of. my regular virus scanner, trend micro, didn't even see, but something was hijacking my browser.
i picked up the free version of hitman pro and it found it in minutes and cleaned it. i used for the trial period and would now like to purchase it.
does someone have a discount code for hitman pro? i'd love to get it.
thanks!

Hi All
A few points of clarification... not aimed at anyone:
RKill's purpose is not to find and shut down rootkits. It is tool designed to do a specific job that helps those who have been trained to use malware removal tools to run those tools. Until now, you would not 'see' anything after running RKill.
ComboFix should not be compared to a commercial product. ComboFix is a powerful tool that, if used without expert knowledge and training, will result in your computer becoming an expensive paperweight.
While Hitman Pro *may* remove rootkits such as TDL3, it cannot guarantee your system is clean. It can only guarantee that it has found everything it's designed to find. Think about it... a few weeks ago no-one was aware of TDL3 but it was out there. How do you know whether the TDL3 rootkit has been used to download a yet-unknown sister rootkit? The safest way forward after the discovery of a rootkit is to reformat and re-install.
