hi !
a-squared (a2) uses 620kB memory for realtime protection: http://www.sevenforums.com/system-security/56018-squared-uses-620kb-memory-realtime-protection.html
it seems to vary a little bit, depending on exactly what i´m doing,
1 hour ago it was 780kB, right now it´s 992kB.
but it stays below 1MB, doing it´s job in the background, can´t be much better can it ?
userinterface ~11MB
scanning: ~110MB, might go up to 180MB
a-squared (a2) is also very good at detecting, and has received several awards. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Dell OS W7-Enterprise + WS-2008 (Converted to Workstation) CPU P4 2,4GHz (at 1,8GHz, "slow" RDRAM, only 400MHz FSB...) I'm using NOD32 but i don't know if it's really the "lightest" Antivirus...
On idle :
GUI : 1 556K (1 632 K when the antivirus Window is open)
KERNEL : 36 020K
While scanning system drive (Smart scan) :
GUI : 2 996K to 3 248K
KERNEL : MAX : ~55 000K -- AVR : ~41 000K
Max UC (on Dual-core) : 48% -- AVG : 2-30%
The best is to try. If it's too much of a hugger, uninstall and try another one. The only thing with NOD32, is that it takes just a little more time to start the computer. ^_^ ...and it's not free. | My System Specs | | Computer type PC/Desktop System Manufacturer/Model Number Custom build OS Windows 7 Home Premium x64 SP1 CPU Core i7 950 3.06 GHz Motherboard Gigabyte X58A-UD3R Memory Corsair XSM3 6GB 1333MHz DDR3 9-9-9-24 Graphics Card Asus nVidia GeForce GTX460 Factory Overclocked Sound Card HT-Omega Claro 7.1 Monitor(s) Displays Asus VW246H 24" Screen Resolution 1920x1080 Keyboard Logitech K350 Mouse Logitech M510 PSU Xigmatek NRP-PC702 700W (cable hell) Case Lian-Li Lancool PC-K62 Cooling Stock fans for PC case, Cooler Master Hyper N520 for CPU Hard Drives 1x90GB OCZ Vertex 2 SSD (System, internal)
