    Exceptions for UAC ?

To anyone that cares to listen, :)

So we are deciding to implement UAC in our rollout of Windows 7 this year. I do like UAC and the security that it does provide however I'm running into a bit of a road block with some users. I have these remote users who at some points may be off-site and they will need to install a printer. Well, it's fine and dandy if the print drivers are in Windows 7 but for those that aren't they are unable to install them. Reason being is that if they go to HP's or Brother's site(s) they are downloading the .exe file not the actual .inf files.

Has anyone run into this in your company? I'm trying to develop a way around it, some sort of exception for running these .exe's. This may not be possible but it doesn't hurt to ask.

This is a great article dont get me wrong but it's not exactly the answer.

    This is why....

As Administrators in a company when our users are traveling we don't know if or when they are going to need to print. On top of that, we don't know what sort of printer they are going to be printing to. Because of this they would need to download the drivers and run them theirselves. However, with UAC it doesn't appear that this is all that possible.

Buy those travelling users a portable printer. Is that an option ?
