Win 7 Pro System Backup Question

Is the System Backup Utility that comes with Win 7 Pro good for a complete system restore in the event of a HD failure?

Similar to Ghost and Acronics?

I have and external HD and can created a bootable emergency disk. But I'm not familiar with Microsoft's Backup Utility.

Thanks,
Bill

It generally works, but a lot of people find it has limitations and some find the interface confusing--what exactly is being backed up, exactly where to, how much control does a user have over the process, how many images can I make; can I rename them at will, etc.

If frustrated by it, there are free alternatives that don't have most of these limitations.

I have used the Windows 7 backup HD image program ever since I started using Windows 7.
It works very well for someone who want to restore 100% of a HD.
If you want to backup just your data files it also Windows 7 has a program to this also.
If you want bells and whistles and lots of color buy yourself a retail program.

Thanks...Looks good. I have a retail backup software, but it's emergency boot disk doesn't recognize wireless keyboards and mice. The vendor says they are working on it...

I'll use Windows Backup for now....
