Free AV Products Competition

I have no idea who this guy is and quite frankly he doesn't seem all that bright, but he did throw a bunch of malicious links at 3 top free AV products and the results were very interesting.

Avast the clear winner in these tests. Avira was plain awful, while MSE didn't fair very well either:

First thing I notice is that he is using XP, whatever ramifications of that are.

Second, he is using the default settings. Again, that is worth considering

Not sure using VM on XP would make all that much difference quite frankly. Default settings is what many, many users would use because most people have no idea. Especially those just loading a free AV on their system because someone tells them they need AV software.
