Windows 7: Windows Defender is on but does not scan.

I set up a new computer with Windows 7. I set Windows Defender to run a scan every day at 2 AM, but as far as I can tell, it doesn't run the scan. It states that the last scan was run about a week ago. I rechecked the settings and Windows Defender states that it in on. I keep the computer in sleep mode at night. Any ideas what the problem is?

Welcome to Seven Forums.

It can't run if the comp is asleep. I can't check right now, but is there a task created in task scheduler for this? If so, you can right click on the task and select propeties and on the conditions tab, select wake the computer to run this task.

Thanks Gary. I left my computer on last night and Defender ran fine. I just assumed that it would wake itself up from sleep mode. Now my problem is that Defender doesn't seem to have found anything. I can not believe that there have been no spyware or other threats in over a week, yet when I click on "history" it is blank. Any ideas?
