Windows 7: Same old UAC dialogues, each time certain programs run

Every time I run certain programs (e.g Winamp or Ext2FSD), Windows asks if I don't mind the program making changes to my harddisk. Of course, this has rapidly become very irksome. Most firewall software, indeed most software generally, at least have an option to save my response and refer to it in the future, instead of asking on each occasion. I value the UAC in certain situations, so I don't want to making sweeping changes to my security, but I would like to authorise certain programs to make whatever changes it is that they're making. I trust in Winamp and Ext2FSD.

You could experiment with the settings of the UAC.

It is a pain and dont know about you but i dont like turning UAC off,Norton Symantec had a great UAC which would show once then you could tick a box and UAC wouldnt appear for that program,sadly ive read they arent going to do this for Windows 7 (tell me if im wrong) shame as there missing out on a good oppitunity

I agree with you, its a PITA, but I weigh the alternatives and I am glad that I have that buffer between me and potential disaster.

Thanks, but those options just make sweeping changes to how all programs are handled, and I want to authorise only specific programs.
