    Be Careful!
"Poor protection against keyloggers, rootkits, and scareware. Just average protection against general malware. In testing, sometimes erroneously reported successful malware removal or blocking." PC Magazine Editors Says.

Been available for a week now. This is pretty much the official thread for it..

    Microsoft Security Essentials Final Available!
That thread was for the Beta pre-release update.
I tried it and didn't work until someone told me it was the beta release.
    Anyway, no harm done.
    Have a great day.

Doesn't say Beta in the first post of the thread. It's stickied and updated with the new version when it comes out, like I said, I posted about 1.0.1961.0 last week- Microsoft Security Essentials Final Available! in the first post when it comes out, so that's where the updates for it are usually posted.

That article was dated 9/9/09 and was probably based on the Beta. full version wasn't released until a couple of weeks later.

Just for information this was done Jan 2009 when MSE was in beta form and not fomally released. It is now March 2010 and it seems the only reviewers are from users like us. I still feel it is a good package.
