Does anyone have the 2012 or 2013 Norton AntiVirus Icon? I noticed that in the 2013 version they got rid of the Desktop Icon, and I can't find it in any of the Norton Folders. I've also googled and have yet to find anything. I might just install 2012 on my laptop and steal it from there if I can't find it | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number HP p6270z OS Windows 7 Home Premium x64 CPU AMD Athlon II X4 620 Motherboard Foxconn ALOE (CPU 1) Memory 4.00GB Dual Channel DDR3 @ 666Mhz (9-9-9-24) Graphics Card HD Radeon 4200 (Integrated) Sound Card Realtek High Definition Audio Monitor(s) Displays HP 2311 (1920x1080) @ 60Hz Screen Resolution 1920x1080 Hard Drives 488GB Seagate ST3500418AS SCSI Disk Device (RAID) |

ExhoX860, You might want to get a different anti-virus program, just looked at the review of NAV 2013, it had gotten a 4 score out of 10 from Maximum PC Magazine (Current edition), YOU can stick with Norton tho, just get Norton 360 v6 Maximum PC magazine gave that a 9 (kick ass) in the August 2012 issue. | My System Specs | | OS Windows 7/Windows 8 RP/Starlite Linux (Debian) |

I still have over 200 days left on my current subscription though. Maybe I'll go back to 2012, I've never had any issues with Norton at all. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number HP p6270z OS Windows 7 Home Premium x64 CPU AMD Athlon II X4 620 Motherboard Foxconn ALOE (CPU 1) Memory 4.00GB Dual Channel DDR3 @ 666Mhz (9-9-9-24) Graphics Card HD Radeon 4200 (Integrated) Sound Card Realtek High Definition Audio Monitor(s) Displays HP 2311 (1920x1080) @ 60Hz Screen Resolution 1920x1080 Hard Drives 488GB Seagate ST3500418AS SCSI Disk Device (RAID) |

I had Norton Anti-Virus since 2002 and loved it, switched to 360 about a year ago. I was getting tired of paying and couldn't try out different 'brands' since you are tied down with the subscription. So I tried a few and picked Microsoft Security Essentials using Win 7 firewall with Tiny Wall.. Surprised that the MSE and Tiny Wall did better than the 360 MSE passed all the EICAR virus test (Norton didn't) and passed the GRC LEAK TEST (Norton didn't).
My son went on all the, 'R' , 'X', 'XXX', 'Super Quad X' rated sites there is and the MSE popped up flags saying, 'VIRUS QUARANTINED and REMOVED' that were caught. Ran MalwareBytes and Emsisoft Anti-Malware to double check and found zero problems.
So I stuck with MSE and Win 7 firewall with Tiny Wall.... Secret thing to do with MSE is to update when you sign on. MSE downloads updates every 30-45 minutes, but only downloads automatically 2 or 3 times a day to your system.
But still a good system even though the test you read shows different.
Manual updating takes about 33 seconds.....and all this is FREE. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Dell 560 OS Windows Home Premium 7x64 CPU DualCore Pentium E5800 Motherboard Dell 018D1Y Memory 8 GB Duel - Channel DDR3 Graphics Card Dell ST2010, Intel G45/G43 Express Monitor(s) Displays 20' Mouse Wired Hard Drives 500 GB Internet Speed 3.5 Other Info MSE, WIN 7 Firewall with Tiny Wall, 500 GB external Western Digital HD |

Paid I reckon is best though and as always doesn't matter cos in the end the bottom lin is how you use your machine eh?

What I'm not understanding here, is how can NAV get such a low score, and yet N360 score way higher? I would think the AV component would be the exact same.
