Site designed to test your malware protection

I did not see this posted anywhere so I thought I would share it with you guys. I have only tested this site running in a virtual environment but it seems to work really well. I scanned my system throughly after testing and found no traces of spyware. I thought some of you might be interested in testing how well you are really protected against spyware.

I find it very ironic that on the bottom of the page, it says "Made on a Mac"

Just tried this. I get the following result from Avast! on each of the links (obviously, the actual object and infection name differs):

Name: Capture1.PNG
Views: 55
Size: 27.4 KB

The final link yields this:

Name: Capture.PNG
Views: 26
Size: 27.7 KB

Avira blocked everything. But to be honest, this is a very basic test. If your AV cannot detect or block even one of these, you have a big problem and might want to consider switching.

As do I.

It is really basic but at least it gives users a tool to verify their software is functioning.

Test your anti-malware/anti-virus protection with EICAR
As many of you know(quite a few don't) what EICAR is, this is a open poll to see what programs pick it up and what programs fail the basic tests. I am conducting this poll because A-Squared failed to see this on a scan, but MSE picked it up before it could be downloaded. So after you take...

Is there a way to test you On-Demand protection?
I was wondering if there was a way to test your on demand protection for your anti-virus. Sort of like a leaktest for firewalls, but for your anti-virus...or is this too dangerous as you basically have to download a file that is a virus in order to test this?

Hi there - Unbiased AV test site
Hi all I think anybody who'se interested in security should at least read some of the papers from this site. About.com: http://www.av-test.org/ Also have a read of this http://www.virusbtn.com/news/2008/09_02 And another -- although in Dutch the table is clear enough
