    Immunizing Firefox with Spybot S&D

Since re-installing 7 ult x64 about two weeks ago (and, of course, along with it, all my applications), I've noticed that Spybot S&D no longer immunizes firefox (currently 3.6.2). When I update SS&D every Wednesday, and apply the new immunizations, it basically has to do all 13k of the items again (see screen shot).

Is there some security setting in Firefox that I've neglected to change, some setting in S&D that I'm missing?

    Thanks all!

Is Spybot running as Administrator? That could be it. You can set it to automatically run as Admin if you right click on the shortcut for it and go to security and check the box "Always Run as Administrator". See if that helps.

Thanks Fred! The Run as administrator check box is actually under the compatibility tab, but that seems to have done the trick! Greatly appreciated, rep added!

Woops, sorry about that little mixup. Glad I could help. Feel free to ask me anything if you're having any more problems.

In addition to Avast, I used to have SpyBot on my XP machine. On my new Windows 7 laptop I merely have Avast and Windows firewall and in-built Windows Defender. What are people's thoughts on spybot, may I ask. Is it worth installing - I had the free version with manual updates on my xp machine. My laptop is Home Premium 64-bit. Thanks as always for suggestions and feedback .

Spybot never found anything on XP except for a false-positive about an MS prog over three years of using it.

When I did eventually pick up a couple of trojan/viruses it didn't find them either!

    Haven't bothered using it since!

thanks for the reply neo, much appreciated. Yes, have to admit I always wondered whether it actually did anything. I will hold back for a sec me thinks. Any decent freeware alternatives to Spybot people? thanks.
