    update service corrupted

After an infection from a virus my windows update is not working. The virus infected the wuactl.exe and my antivirus (bitdefender) started killing the process by assuming its activity malicious (but didn't able to detected it as a virus). the process was spawning after every few seconds and bitdefender killed it every time. Now I am using AVG I think it has deleted the process and I am getting the following error during update check.

    Code 80072EFE

How can I repair windows update files?

From an elevated command prompt run sfc /scannow .... if for some reason this doesnt clear it up, do a repair install.... Hope this helps...

i just dont like repairing windows i tried it with XP when i was on it and it was crap never seemed to work i just hope Win7 is different.

    Update #2

When i try and repair/update windows it comes up with error saying could not install a sertain driver for some reason. I think its because i might not be in Admin Mode so im going to double check and try again, if i get the error again ill post back maybe someone can help with that too.

Ive tried Repair/Update Windows 7 twice now one as my account and one as admin and both times about half way in it comes up with this error message.

Windows Installation Cannot Continue Because a Required Driver Could Not Be Installed.

then when you click OK button it just sends you back to desktop. I dont know what to try next.
