Avira din't detect it.
First saved it to Desktop - Nothing!
Then to cross check saved it to Documents Folder - Still Nothing!
Avira's reviews tend to be up and down depending on who you listen to. Having said that, one of my most trusted resources is AV Comparatives. In their latest testing Avira Premium (not free) achieved their highest score A+ (along with a few other programs) I don't use Avira but I would certainly have expected it to detect this. The only thing I can say is that maybe it knows the file is harmless and let's it go. I'm stretching it a bit I know. If I were you, irrespective of this, I would look around at other vendor's websites. There are better products available
I've disabled resident shield like SE, so AVG didn't pick it up on save, but manually scanning it picked it up.
Edit: Enabling resident shield and adding txt files to the scanned files picks it up straight away as soon as it's saved.
Yeah, after going through What's the Best Anti-virus?
I too was a bit unsure of Avira & wanted to go for Avast. Is that what you are trying to point?
