MSE updates now "optional"?

    MSE updates now "optional"?


    morning boys and girls, just noticed that i didnt get my MSE definition update yesterday, took a look under windows updates, and its been filed as optional so it didnt sort itself,

    anyone else?

    All are listed as important; none are critical.

    curious.... last update check before i forced a check for updates was done at 13.22 MSE optional definition update the latest one came in as optional too (its now 2.30am) really hoping this is just some bug with their UK update dispensing server and it will be sorted.

    Martin, I think MS has just gotten more specific about what they deem critical and optional. I have installed two of the latest with no ill effects. I will install another tomorrow.

    thats alright then... bit of a PITA having to check for the minor ones though.... cheers Carl :)

    surely though... even a minor definition update is still "important"?
