Although I have seen others lodge a cpu usage complaint when using Comodo like you have I have never experienced it on either of my computers in going on 3 years of daily use. I wish I could tell you what the cause or cure were, but a reason as to why this occurs on on a handful of computers and not on the rest has yet to be found.

I read a latest trojan test for this new Beta against the gpcode and the Blackday trojan though still unfinished HERE. Interesting read at that.

This I believe was in connection with the previous issue with CIS ver 5.4.189068.1354, .xx55 HERE but apparently "is" still unfixed until full virtualization in version 6.

damien76- You are very clever to have found a couple of issues that the Comodo Development Team is working to solve. Every computer security software has some issues that they are working on nevertheless Comodo continues to test 100% with its Proactive Defense+ HIPS.

    Hi Maxx,

Just got wind of the "new" test and wanted to share it because it contains information that is needed for users for some settings to maximize CIS effectiveness. As mentioned also it was actually spawned from a previous testing and was also tackled at the Comodo forums until this CIS beta release.

The gpcode and Blackday have only certain variants that have issues with the sandbox but definitely D+ will brute it's way to enforce protection on the system. And, of course there will be always a 2nd layer of defense other than D+. Using just the whole suite isn't my liking. Did not install the AV component and using either Avast IS(no firewall) / Avira Premium.

Yes, I am aware and agree with you that all apps have issues that they have to contend to. The shared information was just to inform fans/users (like me) and be aware of it. And of course this is till in "beta" (early beta release) so still not stable as the final( maybe a new build soon or it'll be version 6...)

Take the case of Online Armor being vulnerable to the Sinowal drive-by dll trojan HERE (also fixed in the latest OA v5.1 beta now in public-beta-phase) and the from-facebook AV killer mentioned in the Avast forums HERE2 and HERE3 (this I hear had variants for Avira, Norton and McAfee AV's as well).

And of Outpost Pro on the occasional freezing/still-there-Latency issues.

I am a fan actually and am using CIS since 2008 (free-version and CIS Complete 2011 --gift from one of the Comodo forum mods) in my pc's (XP SP3 and Windows 7 x32 / x64..outside Outpost Pro and Online Armor Premium). Comodo has really improved in so far as "lightness/zippiness" from version 4 and of course the pop-ups(great work there, now comparing CIS, OP and OA --OA throws a lot of pop-ups and seems not to learn the process'). This CIS beta is by far the lightest ever.

There was actually an update there about gpcode and Blackday test which surprisingly MBAM and HitmanPro failed to detect. Test's will be forwarded to the developers once the guys there have finished. egemen and company at the Comodo forums are working on the full virtualization in version 6 that will stop these variants cold whatever mutation they do.

    Cheers :)

That current lack of full virtualization is exactly why I have not been using the Comodo Sandbox although I have been using the Comodo Firewall and Proactive Defense+ along with Sandboxie for several years with not a single piece of Malware detected on my computer. I also keep a set of several squeaky clean Macrium Reflect Windows drive images that only take a few minutes to restore from the 2 TB Raid 0 LaCie esata drive or somewhat longer from the WD drive which has a duplicate set of Reflect computer image backups...

If my Win 7 computer did ever somehow get infected I would never trust any AV software to be able to do an absolutely perfect job of cleaning it up like an image restoration can.
