Disable Java Notice

I just received this pop-up notice:

Does anyone know what is going on here?

Cheers!

Did you just install this addon or update Firefox. I have gotten this before about other addons.

There is a new version of JRE 1.6.0_20 to fix a problem in the 19 version. Sometimes after you update that toolkit ver 19 will remain. On my system I deleted the Jave JRE 1.6.0_19 and then installed the new version 1.6.0_20. See this thread for information.

No, have been using this setup since I installed the retail home premium upgrade in January. FF is version 3.6. I allow the normal Java updates.

I don't have that particular addon installed. I'll bet it is a Java update that has caused this.

I believe that Java Deployment Toolkit showed up in January. It isn't an plug-in, but rather an extension. However, you do need to update Java. As Phone Man said, there is an updated version of Java to JRE 6u20 -- due to a serious security vulnerability.

If you have installed the Ver 20 java update, check the add-ons in FF to see if Ver 19 is still there. See my previous post.

You are just too, too fast so probably didn't see my edit to add that the toolkit is a plug-in. (You can check that your Firefox plug-ins are up-to-date at Plugin Check)

OK, Java all updated. Don't know why it didn't auto update instead of displaying the notice. BTW, it was the Java "Plug-in", not the Java Console Add-on or JavaRE ...

What is the purpose of having 5 versions of Java Console in my FF Add-ons?

Cheers!
