Mozilla/Foxfire - Insecure Java Plugin in Firefox

Mozilla is disabling older versions of the Java Deployment Toolkit plugin for Firefox users, in a bid to block attacks against a newly-discovered Java security hole that attackers have been exploiting of late to install malicious code.

Noticed this a few days again when my Java Plugin stopped. It doesn't effect most java functions though :)

In fact, you need to update to SE 6u20 if you haven't yet. Best method is offline and watch for any pre-checked toolbar offers.

Yeah, I'm updated to 20, just thought I'd mention that the developer's toolkit and whatever they disabled a few weeks ago didn't affect functionality on average java sites.

Got it! Thanks, I wondered if I'd notice anything since I disabled the update 20 Toolkit.

I have noticed any ill effects. I did notice that one cannot uninstall that addon; one can only disable it.
