Windows 7 won't let me delete a folder?

For some reason, Windows 7 won't let me delete my Windows Media Player folder. Each time I try to delete the folder, a message comes up that says "You need permission to perform this action from [insert my user name for my Sony Vaio] to make changes to this folder. When i click "try again" it still pops up. It doesn't ask for a password or anything.

I went under properties and hit the security and clicked edit to change the permissions. I then un-clicked all the rights i had before under my user name, which deleted the user name from the security window. That still didn't work.

What am I doing wrong? I took ownership of the file before I intended on deleting it, and I think that is what has caused all these problems. SOMEONE PLEASE HELP ME!

This program does work but if I ever wanted to completely uninstall the program for whatever reason off of my computer in the future how would I do so?

You can use Windows uninstaller (Control Panel/Programs & Features, r click on the program you wish to uninstall), or you can use Revo uninstaller (Freeware), which will remove all files and registry entries. Be sure to read the documentation carefully as you can easily hose your system. It never hurts to back up your registry just in case.

Try to delete it with a tiny little free program named Unlocker (Download Unlocker 1.9.1 Free - Get rid of error message like Error deleting file or folder, cannot delete folder: it's being used by another person or program - Softpedia). If it is not able to delete it in the Windows 7 environment then it would tell you to delete at the next boot.
