Windows 7: Applocker and UNC paths

Has anyone gotten Applocker to work with UNC paths? I used to use Software Restriction Policies with network path rules such as \\server\share or \\ip address\share but I can't get them to work with Application Control Policies. It will accept the UNC path but when I go to test the rule out on a Windows 7 computer the application will be inaccesible giving the standard "this program is blocked by group policy. for more information, contact your systems administrator".
