Win7 all outbound blocked except Explorer, Win Firewall seems okay

    Win7 all outbound blocked except Explorer, Win Firewall seems okay


    Win7 Home Premium 64bit ZT computer from Costco wireless connection
    Laptop Win7 works correctly on the same network
    Comcast Modem Cisco wireless router

    Win7 Firewall turned off, same results
    No other firewall running
    Win Firewall reset to defaults and the below listed programs show as exceptions.

    AVG Free can not update - with error message
    Windows Live Email cannot send or receive (two new accounts tried)
    Quickbooks 2010 can not update - with error message
    Firefox 3.63 can not connect

    Explorer works, accesses internet and can download

    Malwarebytes found nothing
    AVG Free found two problems in Old Computer Transferred files
    A UofWA guy installed things (UWSophos, bluetooth, Clearwire)
    These were uninstalled.

    CCleaner cleaning and registry ran.
    Defraggler ran

    Again Win Firewall seems set correctly, no other firewall installed.
    Any ideas? Did not check proxy settings.

    Is there a log that may point the way?

    Hi David, welcome to the forums

    I looked briefly at UWSophos, and I suspect it might be the problem. Are you able to revert your system to a restore point prior to the UWSophos installation? That would guarantee no traces of it

    What other anti-virus do you have, if any?
