    Zone Alarm BSOD

    Hello,
Thought I would give the latest version of Zone Alarm a try with 7. Got the BSOD. This was version 9.2. Suppose to be compatible with 7. Any one else had this problem? I'm back with Online Armor with no problems. IE wouldn't load and froze. FF and GC worked fine. Glad to hear any thoughts on this. Thanks,
    John

Use what works and don't use what caused BSOD.

I am currently running this on my Win7 x64 machine. I also had a BSOD at install but discovered that Windows update was installing an update at the same time. had to force a restart to clear the update when it got hung trying to complete...followed by the BSOD, re-ran the update (successfully) and now my system seems to be stable with ZA.

probably ZA had some clash with one of your program installed. IMO,you should change using other program to replace ZA. MSE,windows defender or comodo might be usefull :)

    Hi jsmoline & welcome,
Zone Alarm [& others] have been implicated in BSOD's.
Good to note that you are having success with Online Armor. It is a good program.

Online Armor seems to work well. I'm still trying to get a definite no or go on Windows firewall with Sphinx Windows Firewall Control added. Thanks for the info on ZA

and what is the "latest version of Zone Alarm" ?
do you mean the firewall or the antivirus-suite ?
    are you using W7 32 or 64-bit ?
