I just ran into something like this with Norton. Hitman Pro reported a Rootkit finding under the Drivers folder on my C drive. Norton found everything clean. Hitman Pro gave me a false positive on that.

yes, sometimes you get a "False positive".
than can happen with every other Antivirus / Antimalware-program too,
except those that doesnīt detect anything at all....

True, f/p's can happen. However, there seems to be some programs where f/p's appear to be more prevalent than others.

yes there are, a-squared has so far only detected 2 FPīs, but iīve had more problems with Avira, Avast & MSE.

MSE has messed with my programs more then once, fx. quarantined "Unlocker" and did not let me un-quarantine it.
i had to reinstall unlocker, to get it working again, but it was easily fixed, i also got a newer version.

MSE also detected some "Very dangerous" programs in my "Securitytest-folder" in which i have some (SAFE) programs for testing firewalls.
i couldnīt find any way to tell MSE to ignore those, so iīll have to reinstall everything.
