    Welcome

Type services in search. Just change how it starts up.

    or

Type msconfig in search and change it from there. Its in the startup tab.

Alternatively, you can use CCleaner or Revo Uninstaller's startup manager.

There is an application called Soluto that specifically deals with analyzing your boot time and telling you what's taking up how much time. It then suggests delaying or removing an app from starting at boot time based on the importance of the application.

Basically, you should delay its startup.

If you untick it, it will have to be started manually. What you should be using is a startup delayer. Try Soluto. Install it, reboot once, and let it tell you what's slowing down you startup. It might not even be MSE. You can tell it to delay startup of any application.

    Hi, xxdannyxxx.

One of my favorite monitoring tools, WinPatrol, has a nice feature for delaying the start of programs, as you certainly do not want to remove your anti-virus software from startup.

    From WinPatrol Help:
    Delayed Start

There may be some programs which you do want to keep running but you don’t need to launch immediately on boot up. WinPatrol’s Delayed Startup allows you to specify the time to wait before launching programs which may typically run instantly when you boot slowing down the initialization of Windows.

To Delay the startup of programs go to the WinPatrol Startup Program list.

Select a program title and "Right-click"

On the menu that pops up select, "Move to Delayed Start Program list".

To return programs to the normal Startup list, use "Right-click" and select "Restore program to Startup List".
This way, you speed up the start-up process without jeopardizing the security of your computer. Personally, since Windows 95, WinPatrol has been on all of my computers!
