First time Sandboxie user, how does it work?

I am about to DL and install Sandboxie for Windows 7 64bit. Can anyone tell me how to use it or have any recommendations? Specifically, does it always run in the background and do I need to move programs out of the sandbox if I want to install them permanently?

1.)Do I need tweak it at all?
2.)Will it slow my browsing down?

Is it possible to have a SSD as a Windows drive and a mechanical hard drive working inside the same computer at the same time if they're both SATA II? I've heard horror stories that SSD's and HDD's won't...
