i am wondering since so many people use MSE do you guys hate it or something you don't like about it?
for me the only down side is that you have to manually update it soon as it has the feature to update it self i will use it but till then no
so what about you?

Mine updates through Windows Update.
-
how do you set it up to do that?

I don't have to manually update mine.

Weird thing the last couple of days: MSE updating through auto updates returns an error that it can't be updated, but the update through MSE itself goes fine.
Anyone else seeing this or do I have a quirk somewhere?

If a lot of us use it then why would we hate it? That sentence doesn't really make sense.

My Windows Update is set to check for updates but let me choose whether to download and install them. My MSE still updates about once a day on it's own.

If your asking if windows update has to be set to automatically update, yes, if you want MSE to update automatically. If you asking if there is an option you must change in order to make it download the updates, I believe so. I'm pretty sure I saw an option while installing it, and left as the default. I don't do have updates set to automatically install, so I still have to do it manually.
I like it a lot. I used to swear by AVG, but it didn't seem to do so well in 64-bit Windows, so I installed MSE, since it had a 64-bit option. It's not as user friendly, but it works just as well as AVG did in XP, if not a little better. AVG does have the problem of some viruses being made to specifically target it. As MSE is not as popular, it does not have this issue.
