    System Recovery(AV) Recommendations?

Hey all :P Well... Today my brother was asking me how to put any random videos on to his iPhone. So i told him, and he goes on the web to find some software to convert .XXX to .mp4. And i told him to watch out for viruses - and he even got one.. :P

So I told him i would fix his laptop without a system restore. So Anyone can recommend a good software?

Ie: There'sAvast Bart ... and idk what else their is.
In simpler terms, looking for a good av that i can put onto a CD and pop in his computer, reboot(i already set the bios to boot from cd) and to take the virus out. I don't mind using a "trial" version or anything. This is just a 1 time thing.

    Thanks :)

    Hi, DarkDavil.

Personally, I don't like to make blind recommendations, not knowing what I'm dealing with. Doesn't your brother's onboard A/V work? Have you tried MBAM or SAS?

LMAO. If he even knew what A/V was :P And btw, +Rep to you all, thanks Dinesh and also to Jacee :P

I made my own CD off-of a trial version of ESET Smart Security (Here)

    Worked great!

EDIT: To Dinesh and Corrine, I'll rep you guys later, I need to "spread some more rep around" :P

    Thanks, DarkDavil.

Rep isn't necessary. Knowing that the computer is back to normal is what its all about. I hope that you made sure your brother had proper security when you finished.

    BitDender Rescue CD

    Using the BitDefender Rescue CD

    Kaspersky Rescue Disk 10.0.21.5

The BitDefender cd is especially good, also the Avira cd Jacee suggested. BitDefender Rescue Disk has ability to automatically update its virus definitions as well.
