    Hi All,

"netsh firewall add portopening .." command to a windows 7 accepted command, so i know that the option to make is to convert it into the following command
" netsh advfirewall firewall add rule name .." But my question is. in the earlier command , i.e "netsh firewall add portopening" there was an attribute named "Interface" , which was customizable :)but in the new command i see only and option "interfaceType" , which is not customizable so. Please help me in this . what should i be Doing in this?

This Microsoft KB Article may be of help: How to use the "netsh advfirewall firewall" context instead of the "netsh firewall" context to control Windows Firewall behavior in Windows Server 2008 and in Windows Vista. Even though the title indicates Windows Server 2008 and Windows Vista, it also applies to Windows 7.

    Hi, tijojoy.

I don't know what you are attempting to accomplish and would think you have already investigated the MSDN resources. If not, the following is what I found on the InterfaceType Class: InterfaceTypeAttribute Class

However, as it sounds as though you are attempting to configure the Windows 7 Firewall for a corporate network situation, I suggest you refer to the MSDN document at Netsh Commands for Windows Firewall with Advanced Security and the documents linked in that article.
