Sometimes these things can get unpatched. Try running the patcher again to make sure all 3 files are still patched. If not patch them, restart and then try the themes that dont work. Also, make sure you have followed instructions on copying and pasting the system files exactly like you are supposed to.

Download Universal ThemePatcher.zip . Get your version, and run it . Patch themeservice.dll , themeui.dll and uxtheme.dll. Restart your computer. Now copy and paste only the theme (not any extras) in C:\Windows\Resources\Themes .

I hope there will be no problem then. If still it is a problem, post the link of the theme here.

It's been a while since I messed with themes, but I do remember downloading ones that just simply didn't work, and reverted to a classic or high contrast theme.

Are you running fullglass.exe? If you are, remember to exit it when using a lighter theme.

So is it the high contrast texts in lighter themes dut to fullglass.exe running ? I thought high contrast means basic and high contrast themes

Thanks guys for all replys! Yes ,i am using full glass exe and i stop the tool when i use light theme;another information about my problem is some theme when reverting to high contrast, when i click to "window colors"in the personalization menu she going to the ADVANCED OPTION whithout view the color mixer and option for enabling and disabling "transparency";this is a strange 'i cant understead what'wrong and what's happening'i believe that is a small conection whith NET FRAMEWORK 4.0;is that posible?i've tryed to unlock theme whith Rafael UxStyle core-notingh change;same issue;my video card is in good health condition because games runing fine;also i've read on the internet, site called"AskVG"a similar problem -some people after logoff have same issue-theme change automaticaly to basic;i believe theme builded from old xp or vista theme imported to ave's style builder and modiffied for windows 7 appears whith this issue. Is possible registry trick to correct this?I've searched in the registry something strange and i finded a line called"Theme" whith binaries values in the right side. Thanks all for suppport!
