Miss XP Themes

For years I used the Eggplant" theme in XP, but I haven't been able to get the same colors. I am close on the Desktop color, but the background around everything is an ugly gray. Any suggestions?

Hello georgeann I've replicated your requested theme to near perfection

Miss XP Themes-eggplant.jpg

the appearance panel on left is the actual theme in XP Mode and the panel on the right is the theme I have replicated.

Unzip the file Eggplant theme and copy & paste the theme file into C/WINDOWS/Resources/Themes or just click on the theme & it will be installed at C/Users/Yourusername/AppData/Local/Microsoft/Windows/themes but may appear in the personalzation panel as an unsaved theme under My Themes, Just right click and save the theme, You can then use your own Picture for the desktop.

It is also a good idea to save the zip file as a backup since a custom theme can be accidently changed.

Thank You

Thank you so much. The colors are so much easier on these 79-year-old eyes.

I've always loved Canadians. I don't know where you live, but 40 years ago my husband and I drove a motor home from Victoria to St John's on our honeymoon. I still have an empty Screech bottle on display in our living room.

Your help meant a lot to me.

Your quite welcome, I am living between the Screech (St John's ) and Victoria (BC) at the moment in Alberta.

The Hit & Miss Game
This is a little forum game that is kinda fun :D The rules are simple, somebody posts a statement about the next person, like "the next person likes cookies", and if it's true you respond by saying "Hit!" and if it's not then "Miss!" Then it's your turn to make a new statement for the next...

I miss my X very much
Before I switched to Win 7 my X was always there for me .... but now....It's gone :( Ok.... I'm talking about the red X that was always up top of every XP window in the tool bar. Is there a way to get it back in Win7 Ultimate? Thanks D.

Miss my old buttons
Is it possible, using the Aero theme, to see the Back, Next, Up, Copy, Cut, Paste, buttons while navigating around win explorer? For example in My Docs. I know I can use keyboard short cuts or r-mouse but I used those all the time and miss not having them. A

What happens if I miss the rearm?
Hi: I am running 7260x64 (I mean 7264 not 7260 - sorry for the typo) on one of my machines, which I have not activated. In a week, I will be going away on holiday-vacation for those in the US (at day 22 of my 30 days) and will not be coming back until day 35. I was wondering what would happen...
