    Hi
Try clicking on th basic theme first and then click on the standard Windows 7 aero theme
    Ashley
    Already done.....
But the next time i select any other aero theme, it goes back to contrast mode!!!
do you use any software to change start orb?take a look in your windows directory and tell me how many explorer.exe(including backup_explorer.exe);location to search is C:\Windows;your explorer.exe might be broken

Open the start menu and type Aero in the search box, then choose the first option "Resolve problems with aero" or something like that...

try this, type services in the start search box, select the result with a little cog beside it .in the wndow that opens scroll down to the desktop window manager session manager

    Attachment 195275

then click on it and then click the stop services then start services

    Attachment 195276
tried aero resolve trouble shooter ,
it resolves temporarily... if i again click another aero theme its the same story all over again
and tried restarting the services too... no luck.

If you are still having this same problem over a year later I think you need to do a clean install backup all your data (music, pictures, documents etc.) to an external hard drive and start fresh.
